KENNEY — Elwood B. Albert, 86, of Kenney died at 7:50 a.m. Saturday (June 19, 2004) at McKinley Court, Decatur.

His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with J. Kent Hickerson officiating. Burial will be in Maroa Cemetery, Maroa. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Hallsville Christian Church.

He was born May 1, 1918, in Morrisonville to Henry and Grace Irene Barrowman Albert.

Surviving are five children, Forrest (Mary) Albert, Warrensburg; Stuart (Jackie) Albert, Mayer, Ariz.; Beverly (Bob) Goodman, Newport, N.C.; Dollie (Mike) Tamburini, LeRoy; and Emily (David) Steward, Kenney; 19 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Hank Albert; and one brother, Leonard Albert.

He was a retired farmer and carpenter and a member of the carpenters union.

He was a member of Hallsville Christian Church. He was an avid square dancer and a member of Linpro Square Dance Club and the Oasis Senior Center in Lincoln.

KENNEY — John Thomas Clifton Jr., 62, of Kenney died at 3:58 a.m. Wednesday (June 16, 2004) at Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur.

Services were Saturday at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, J. Kent Hickerson officiating.

Burial was in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Kenney, with military rites.

Memorials: Kenney Fire Department; Kenney Heritage Association or the Cancer Society.

Survivors: his wife, Kathy; three children, John T. (Jennifer) Clifton III, Steele, Ala.; Julie Dash, Weldon; and John (Melanie) Shobe, Clinton; three sisters, Donna (Roger) Torbert, Kenney; Shawn (Danny) Deavers, Kenney; and Sue (Randy) Jordan, Hays, Kan.
