MANSFIELD — Nancy Ahrens, 66, of St. Joseph, Mo. died Saturday (May 8, 2004) after a lengthy bout with cancer.
A memorial service was held Tuesday, May 11, at Faith United Church. Memorials may be made in her name to the Libery Fund of Coleman School, 3312 Bech Road, St. Joseph, MO 64506.
Nancy was born Feb. 22, 1938 in Champaign, a daughter of Dwight E. “Curly” and Lola F. Stiverson Lanier.
Survivors include a son, Jeff Ahrens, Ferguson, Mo.; a daughter, Darcy Ahrens, Kansas City, Mo.; three grandchildren; one sister, Mary Lu Hall, Mahomet; and two brothers, John Lanier, Commack, N.Y. and J.D. Lanier, Mansfield.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Nancy graduated from Mansfield High School in 1956 and from the University of Illinois in 1960. She was a resident of St. Joseph, Mo. Since 1968. She worked for System Builders as an office manager. She was an active member of the Faith United Church.
